* Twist & Twirl Styling Creams are suitable as a leave-in, rinse-out conditioner or deep conditioning treatment. Use a little as a styling aid to give gentle hold while twisting, or to smooth fly away hair. Twist & Twirl Hair Whips and Styling Creams can be used (separately) as deep conditioning treatments: apply required amount to clean wet hair, cover with a cap or warm towel. Apply heat if desired. Rinse out.
* Aromatherapy Hair & Scalp Support Serums can be used as hot oil conditioning and pre-poo treatments. To use Twist & Twirl Hair Whip as a hot oil treatment, scoop required amount into suitable container before gently heating until fully melted.

Uzima: The Natural Holistic Expo 2012

Earlier this month I notified you about the Natural Holistic Expo "Uzima" to be held on Saturday 28th July in Holborn, West London to promote Health, Lifestyle, Hair & Beauty, Fashion and Culture.

I am pleased to announce that Avocadoholistic & Almocado (Sisterlocks & Natural Hair Services) will be participating at the expo along with a diverse but complementary mixture of therapists, natural cosmetic companies and fashionistas. If you have been considering Sisterlocks or are looking for holistic natural hair care products please visit the Almocado stall. I have teamed up with another local entrepreneur who will be showcasing their natural bath and body products, along with my line of aromatherapy products so whatever you're into it should be worth a visit.

For those of you who plan to make a day of it, why not book some time in the therapy room? I'll be there in my uniform ready to work out any knots, soothe any aches and answer any questions you may have.

Touch is one of our most powerful senses. In the same way that you instinctively rub your shoulder when it hurts, or gently stroke an upset child’s back to comfort them – a massage treatment can calm, soothe and sedate; or provide relief from emotional upset, stress or bereavement. Massage can also invigorate and re-energise; as well as relieve muscular pain and tension and improve poor circulation.

Unless specified otherwise, the treatments will be conducted with a vitamin packed blend of rich avocado and softening sweet almond oils (or olive oil & grapeseed for those with nut allergies) or whipped shea butter.

Wellbeing in the Community

This afternoon, I had the pleasure of participating in a local school fair alongside Sorrell Robins from the Chamomile Clinic (Catford).

It was a sunny (and very windy) day and it was good fun to watch the kids and their parents milling around. I also had the opportunity to meet other local vendors and was pleasantly surprised to bump into Yemi Oba, Reiki therapist and owner of Cosmic Connections in Deptford.

Together, Sorrell and I gave a number of seated treatments designed to ease stress and relieve tension in the  head, neck, shoulder and back.

This was my first experience in a 'school' setting and in a non-holistic arena, it was nice to meet members of the local community and help get the word out about wellbeing.  Too often people assume that holistic services are simply for the rich or sports personalities so I appreciated the opportunity to explain how therapies can help the average Joe with everyday complaints and it's not always as expensive as you think!

Reflexology can help reduce the frequency and duration of migraines and tension headaches and has been shown to have good results with fertility treatments, bowel problems and feminine complaints.

In addition to sports-related and chronic muscular injuries,  therapeutic massage can help with depression,  and anxiety.   You may be familiar with Aromatherapy for emotional balance and relaxation but did you know it can also help with irregular periods and self esteem?  Hot stone massage can help with stiffness and insomnia.
